THE GENEALOGY OF ROBERT (ROBIN) EASLEY, THE FRENCH HUGUENOT IMMIGRANT AND ANN PARKER
THROUGH GEORGE WOODSON EASLEY AND DELLA JEANETTE WHITTON AND THEIR FAMILY
DISCLAIMER
Genealogy without proof is mythology.
As an enthusiastic but amateur genealogist, I am overwhelmed with the immensity of my lineage. However, the miraculous computer technology and user-friendly software now allows researchers to search from the comfort of their homes. The ability to accumulate more and more information at a faster and more efficient rate has made this hobby a pursuit worth while.
My father was the Easley family genealogist prior to computers. He made many trips and wrote numerous letters gathering his information. My Uncle Carlos joined him in the search and after my father passed, Uncle Carlos continued the quest.
I took up the research activity using my father's and uncle's proven ancestry links. My father was able to reach William Easley and my uncle took the line back to the immigrant, Robert Easley.
My goal is to look only at the parent generations back through time. However, just from the immigrant to our present generations, we are looking at several thousand members. Considering that we have been marrying since 1611, it is no wonder that we are related to so many early settlers.
I am keenly aware of the controversy surrounding Robert Easley's origin and faith. However, controversy is often resolved in an open forum with many people working together to resolve a common problem and obtain resolution. I'm confident, that with the emerging DNA science, we will bring our genealogical tree together. Waiting for incontrovertible proof isn't any fun at all! If I waited until the genealogy was proven and finished, I would never be able to share. Therefore, please forgive my many errors. I truly appreciate your offered corrections, suggestions and positive criticisms.
It is my hope that our extended family will contribute at will. Thank you for your consideration and evaluation of the genealogy materials. However, beware of all information and take the time and effort to document your own lineages.
You might experience slow downloading of pages if your computer is slower than most. Please, let me know if this is a considerable problem for you.
